Exhibition Sections
MAIN SECTION
It is the core section of ArtVerona and brings together the exhibition proposals of modern and contemporary art galleries. The fair continues its commitment to overcoming the traditional separation between contemporary and 20th-century art galleries, encouraging dialogue between works and different expressive languages. The new theme, Tra parentesi, represents an evolution of the idea of conversation among the actors of the art world – galleries, collectors, artists, and the public – started in the previous edition. While in 2025 the focus was on the relationships between the subjects of the art system, the 2026 edition places at its center what happens between these subjects.
Effetto Sauna
(Fuori dalle parentesi)
Curated by Thomas Ba
Effetto Sauna is a section that compares artists at different stages of their careers. The title echoes the vision of Knud W. Jensen, founder of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, who in the 1950s sought to bring the public closer to contemporary art by alternating two visual temperatures: a “warm” section, with works by artists already well known in art circles, and a “cold” section, dedicated to emerging artists yet to be discovered.
STILL
[per(formare) lo sguardo]
Curated by Giovanna Manzotti
STILL aims to explore the multiple expressive possibilities offered by the medium of photography, reflecting on its potential for formal experimentation. The section focuses on emerging or established artists, whose work is presented to the public in monographic or collective projects, or in projects centred on the work of two artists, favouring in the latter case an intergenerational comparison that enhances the intrinsic value of their respective research. This dialogue between two artists may also be the result of a joint project presented by two galleries.
Pittura (Ora)
Curated by Leonardo Regano
Pittura (Ora) explores sign and gestural practices in contemporary painting and drawing, questioning their status in a phase of suspension and redefinition of language. The title introduces a conceptual parenthesis in this new edition. (Ora) not as an affirmation of presence, but as an intermediate space, a place of transition in which the medium of painting breaks away from stable positions to open up to new possibilities.
AWAVE ZONE
Contemporary Art Expression from Korea
An exhibition space dedicated to galleries and cultural entities from Korea, offering an
unprecedented, in-depth look into the modern and contemporary Korean art scene. The
project is curated by AWave (Asia Art Wave), an independent creative and cultural
platform that fosters intercultural and artistic dialogue between Europe and Asia while
supporting emerging artists.s.
