Saturday 14 October at 10.00 pm – Loggia di Fra’ Giocondo, Piazza Dante – Verona
curated by Nicolas Ballario with Rodrigo D’Erasmo and Adriano Viterbini
LIVES! is a format curated by Nicolas Ballario and Rodrigo D’Erasmo, a project that aspires to compile a series of “musical novels” of art dedicated to art legends, born within the ranks of Germi, a contamination venue and music incubator in Milan. It is all performed live: pressing and direct narratives of the artists’ stories and works, with a soundtrack that is played on the spot and constantly evolving between ad hoc compositions and improvisations. An entirely new way of proposing this field that seeks in the personal vicissitudes of the artists the seed of art and where music is not accompaniment, but punctuation. Its rhythm, its “consciousness.” After last March’s event dedicated to Maurizio Cattelan, LIVES! returns to Verona with two evenings devoted to Louise Bourgeois and Jean-Michel Basquiat. LIVES! is part of Cabaret, a format through which Ballario seeks to overturn the concept of meetings at art fairs: no longer lectures for insiders only, but appointments with an almost theatrical taste to tell the contemporary.
